MBG: Configure SIP devices for recording

NOTE: This document applies to MBG configuration.
The physical phone must be configured for SIP to register.
For example PolyCom Boardroom phone - refer to topic: Polycom conference phones and recording on Mitel

Versions for settings below:

  • Mitel Standard Linux 10.5.21.0
  • MiVoice Border Gateway 10.0.1.36

Steps:

  1. Log onto MBG and select MiVoice Border Gateway under Applications section.

  2. Under ‘Service Configuration’, select ‘SIP users’:

  3. Click on the ‘+’ in the ‘Device information’ section.

  4. Tick ‘Enabled’
    Set Configure ICP to ‘Controller’ from drop-down.

  5. Enter extension number under ‘Set-side username’ and ‘Icp-side username’,
    use the extension as password also and
    ‘Description’.

  6. Set RTP Framesize to 20

    Click on ‘save’ button to apply.

  7. Go to ‘System status’ and select ‘Devices’. See Sip Devices section:

Trouble Shooting:

  • If you cannot add the SIP User, due to SIP not enable:
    Go to SYSTEM CONFIGURATION and SETTINGS.
    Under SIP options tick UDP for Protocols.
  • To allow weak password (just extension number):
    Go to SYSTEM CONFIGURATION and SETTINGS.
    Under SIP options tick ‘Permit weak SIP passwords’.
