There are 2 options to re-install the TNG software:
-
The old TNG folder is still available.
-
Install TNG on the new PC.
NOTE: If installing TNG on the ‘old/same’ PC, you need to make a backup of the TNG folder beforehand(stop the tng service before you make the backup, make the backup and then start the TNG service again). Uninstall TNG with the ‘unins000.exe’ program located in ‘C:\Program Files\Datatex\TNG’ and then delete the TNG folder. Once deleted, Install the TNG software.
To install TNG(with buffer) you will require your product serial number (on the white box).
Also see: Where do I see the product serial for TNG? -
Stop the service (Windows) or daemon (Asterisk) on the new TNG PC.
See: How do I stop/start the TNG service in Windows?

Delete the TNG folder on the new pc.
-
Stop the TNG service on the old TNG PC.
-
Once the service is stopped, copy the old TNG folder to the new PC (C:\Program Files\datatex\tng). This will ensure that your live TNG call data is transferred to the new TNG aswell as your logs/history files and licensing. If you copy only the ‘data’ folder across you will not have the complete TNG installation transferred to the new PC. NOTE: You can only copy the ‘old’ database within the same TNG version, for example you cannot install TNG 1.1.1.8 or newer and copy the files from 1.0.x.x.
If you wish to move a TNG version 1.0 and upgrade to version 1.1, you need to install the 1.0 version and re-register it. Once licensed, you can upgrade to version 1.1 - refer to forum post: Upgrading TNG (with buffer) v1.0.7.6 to TNG v1.1.1.8
If you require you Phonebook entries, also copy the ‘Destinations.txt’ file from the old TNG folder to your new installation’s TNG folder. For more details see forum post:
